Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

MSFGG3008 - Form glass

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Identify work requirements

  1. Work requirements are identified from work instructions
  2. Work health and safety (WHS) requirements relevant to forming glass, including personal protective equipment, are observed throughout the work
  3. The process for obtaining materials and moving completed work to the next process is identified
  4. Procedures for checking the quality of materials and items produced, working condition of kiln and any other equipment/attachments and the quality requirements for each stage of the forming process are identified
  5. Communication with others involved with the work is established and maintained to ensure efficient work flow coordination, personnel cooperation and safety throughout the work
